So... we got our 100th member... we're full...
what do we do?
we got a policy of kicking players who don't log in for 40 days.... we'll get like 6 more slots in a week.... but that doesn'T compensate for the people who wants in...

what i think: we open a 2nd clan

we could have a "recruits" clan like someone suggested... where we put a minimum xp requirement on this clan and everyone else go on the other clan... it would be easier to look for the clan tag than if the person is a grunt or not in the clan page...

who would lead that clan? who cares enough to lead them?

what do you guys think?

name suggestions? i would think something like ZDCR (Zombie Defense corps Recruits)

alright well i'll start with a problem... if we have a clan with members of lets say 15k exp + then those players might get a bit full of themselves with the lower exp members.. that being said I think the only way to deal with it is to set the requirments to 15k for ZDC and maybe 20k for grunt then.. and open up the other clan

Even if we open up second clan I don't think anyone's capable of running it. Also we have a lot new people to our clan so they might not even be permanent and active. I suggest you set the cap of removing members to 21 days and whoever you want to keep longer do it at your own discretion, everyone else is removed.

I've thought about this already. Perhaps the Clan needs to be split into Groups Such as Alpha..Bravo .. etc

Hmm Didn't realize i double replied? Thanks. Yea Just set up (Admin name here) as the head of each "Unit" if you will. But in the end We would all belong to ZDC so maybe for the little abbreviation thing it would be ZDCA ...ZDCB ... Etc

I don't think it really is that hard for a second clan, if you don't have to spend time doing XP checks to seperate grunts and peons

it might even save some time to Misho as he won't need to wait for a XP check to give admin access to the bot, when he sees a request via the forum, he just have to make sure the player is in ZDC and voilà (considering all the players in ZDC have the XP requirements for admin access)


I'm totally in support of 2 separate clans, when inactive players (for which the limit could easily be reduced to 30 days, or less) will be kicked out and we'll still be full => atm that would free a dozen spots, that would give us time to create another clan and still accept newcomers

having 2 clans .. is a great idea. The problem is, can Misho's bot be in both of the clans at the same time ? If not we need a 2nd bot for the 2nd clan.
Also having an active leader in the new clan is necessary to promote the new clan and training new members

It sure would make the xp filtering easier, looking at lists for grunts and peons at the same time ilook at the admin requests is always a bit complicated, just looking for a name in the clan is much simpler

reducing the limit of not logging in wc3 to 30 days is just a very temporary thing, the total number of persons that would be kicked out would be 9 only, and most of those slots could be filled pretty easily...

The xp limit could be raised to the end of the enlisted list, 14 000xp, so that we would have people who are more.... inclined... to do harder difficulties because of the xp reduction they get....

As for the bot, if XArmyof1X's bot every launches officially and becomes something we cancount on, i would send mine over to their side, as they would be more inclined to do public games than the officers from the ZDC clan....

The only reason I thought of seperating people into the Separate groups is because in the future if there is really that many players and needs a Second expansion most of the work is done.

I am able to host with my bot, once i take some time to figure out why its not working with DoTD B7. I can also Use a bot to hold the second channel open if you please. I know I'm still "new" to the clan, but I'm trustworthy, so think about it. ^_^

Well I can help you set it up, but i'm having troubles myself. Let me find a way to not get owned by bnet, and i'll help you then.

this new clan will need very active chieftain / shamans that can invite/train people regularly ( i usually log 1-2 hour / day on Bnet )

having extra hosting bots running would be a plus ( i cannot run my host bot until my connection will be stable )

and some channel bot can also auto invite people

concerning names ... i dont have ideas yet

well, if we have West players coming to East to get in ZDC, imo the most logical thing would be to set up a ZDC clan in West to reduce the strain of invite requests on East ZDC...

also, I believe that having a clan with very few members (such as a 14XP bar) would kind of kill it => it is better to split players 50/50 as much as possible between both clans as XP level really is not that much of a good indicator of activity

=> and I'm talking DotD activity here, let's say we have a clan with 30 highly ranked players and only 20 of them are active online, but only 12 out of those 20 actually plays the game, you would never be able to get a private game going...

for this reason, I think we should set the XP requirement to enter ZDC to maintain a balanced activity on both clans (to be honest, I'm not sure we'll ever reach more than 2 clans on east, competitors will pop up and suck up those players who are not happy in ZDC), that means the XP requirement would change over time, following the XP inflation (haha, professional deformation => I study economics) of the active players...it's all about balance bitches!!

I would not mind taking up a shaman position in the other clan, although that would probably mean dual accounting as I'm not going to transfer to the "noob" ZDC and miss out private games because I'm not in the real channel (yeah, I know, there are workarounds, but none are completely hassle free).


@Misho: I think you underestimate the complexity of transferring players from ZDC to ZDC-B

=> If you kick a player and he's not aware of the split, he's probably going to be pissed and not come back asking why he got kicked...

=> Therefore, you need to make sure a player leaves by himself and joins ZDC-B and since only a small % from the 100 players in the clan actually browse this website, if might be extremely complicated and/or time consuming to reach all the players that don't make the cut...that is: if you know exactly who they are!

=> Any player that joined recently simply can not leave ZDC before he's eligible to bnet's grunt status.

I think we should call the new clan Fresh Meat for Zombies (FMZ).

If we go giving the second clan name something other than ZDC then those people may feel as though they arent as much a part of ZDC as the people with the actual ZDC tag name
