Due to the release of Beta 6, my posts were too long so topic of guides will be introduced here. I'm sorry for whatever inconvenience this has created.
Thought I'd finally start off a walk through for the game since many of us dearly love this game and some new and some old but for the new people i built a walk through guide for this game.
We begin our story with the train moving through and when it lands if you are host you may select from one of three modes.
Part 1: Saving Survivors
You began the game by being able to selecting one of many different classes that have their own skills. The currently available classes are
After selecting the class which you enjoy(hopefully) you are to wait for orders as you are deployed.
Tips for this section
After a few moments you will soon receive orders to pick up survivors. Check your map this will usually be in a green looking ping on your map. Head to the area! After rescuing the 1st group you are given 5 minutes to rescue as much survivors as you can. More survivors= more exp which is what you want. Survivors as you notice will follow whoever rescued them so rescue as much as you can. Also if a zombie gets too close to the survivors the survivors will defend themselves and help you fight the zombies. However they are very poor fighters and can easily die, please don't send these poor men to their doom. After the timer is up regroup with your team and with the NPC.
Tip
Follow the NPC onto the parking lot where they will be evacuated along with the NPC. During this time an ambush will attack your team with masses of zombies, prepare to defend yourselves as you encounter the 1st boss which is chosen at random between(Hell Spawn/Monstrosity).Your all on your own now! Collect your rewarded exp and head north!!!
Part 2 Midnight City
After completion of saving the survivors you are now headed to learn about how the city zombies came about, start with heading north(It will be ping on your mini map) There will lay your next cut scene. It will begin with the professor asking who you are and demanding the safety before he hands the data over. You will agree to his terms and escort him, however a power outage will occur and as zombies come about he will run in fear and you lose complete track of him.
Funny Stuff
After this your screen will be a slightly dark color and your vision is completely obstructed and lowered. You must head west (thats left fyi) and head to the power plant(this will be pinged) make sure to stay as a team and progress. Also this is the beginning of the new monsters that await you.
Enemy Analysis
Tips
When you reach the power plant you will receive a message that there is no such parts in the city, and they need to be flown in. You must defend until the spare parts arrive and will remain in the dark until so. After a good ~7mins or so you will get a message that the spare parts have arrived. BUT WAIT ITS A TRAP!!! When the spare parts dropped it also spawns your very next boss(which is another hell spawn or monstrosity). You can probably defend against this monster at the power plant.
*If your team is very good you can go for the part and take the boss on the streets using hit and run tactics*
The spare part takes up one slot of your inventory and it an item so after you pick it up head back to the power plant. Right Click the piece and place it into the power plant(it looks like a factory from Tinker). After a few moments the power of the city will come back on yay! You will then receive exp for your hard work.
Part 2B Plant Disorder
*Only available in Beta 6*
After completion of saving the citizens you are now heading towards the professor's lab to collect data. This doesn't always goes as plan as the professor has died die to a whacked virus mutation of the plants. After the scene you will notice a huge plant has erupted from the ground and is invulnerable. Its time to destroy the plant by watering it. Head to the sewers now.
Tips
After heading towards the sewer you will activate another scene the plants have infested all the way to the sewers as well its time for a new design of a weapon, say hello to agent orange. Unfortunately it may not be shipped in by air, it must be shipped in by the pier at the bottom so head towards the peer. However be careful as this may lay to a trap now that a hell spawn or monstrosity has spawned to wipe out your team! And as you head down secure the area and defend the area, ground flares and flares will be useful.
After obtaining agent orange head back to the sewers and carefully walk up and use agent orange. It works like an unlimited Ingram against plants and slowly kills them despite their invulnerability status their HP will slowly drain away and kill them. Afterwords head onto the Circle and doing so filling the gauge up and killing the plant.
Part 3 Holy Cow That A What Now?
Great job if you are this far your probably doing a good job. Continuing the mission the lights should be back on. Wait for a few moments to get a new message stating they have found the professor, head southwards into the park and make sure you stay as a team. Hunters are still out there and willing to pray on noobs. Make sure to regroup near the top of the park *DO NOT ENTER* or you might regret trying the boss without your team mates. Once you enter you will enter a cutscene with the professor. YAY HES SAVED, O JOY all your hard work is done!!! NOT you will soon encounter an earth quake where the plant boss is upon you and he sickens and rips apart the professor and his body is dead. Its time for the next boss the plant boss
Info and Tips
After the plant boss has been killed the data will be placed onto the ground collect and click it to send it away. Your mission is one step closer to being done, but this is just the beginning...
You will receive mission XP for this so congratulations so far to the remaining survivors.
Part 3B Reckonings of the Hydra
*This is only available in Beta 6*
After completion of the water, it is now time to head to the professor's lab in which the plant infesting the area has been gone you will enter the cut scene were the hydralisk with poisonous attacks. This is a very powerful beast which is no joke to your team, be reckless and die.
Tips
After defeat of this creature collect the data disk and send it in for your XP
Part 4 Hungry Felhounds Say FEED ME
With your progress so far, its time to take the offensive, after sending the data to head quarters you will be given a brief moment to collect new weapons and materials while you wait. However just because your allowed to doesn't mean its an easy job. Zombies still roam the night and will attack your team.
In a few minutes you will receive message that they figured out how this zombie infection became and need you to prevent some lab test results before they get out of hand. So your next mission so hunt down a number of hell hounds before they get too strong and end up eating you alive.
Info and Tips
After slaying these beasts, the zombies are real mad now your job is now done and its time to be rescue the city and purge the zombies but first we need some reinforcements...
After mission is complete your team will now receive XP. The end is near for you...
